Gavin Joseph Freeman, 16, of Peru, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Gavin was born November 15, 1999 to Joe and Audrey (Chalus) Freeman.
Gavin was a student at LaSalle-Peru High School and employed at Peru HyVee. He was a member of 4-H, Bass Club and was an organ donor. He was a fun-loving, hardworking, camo-wearing hunter and fisherman. Gavin was a respectful young man, full of jokes and laughter. All the people that receive a part of him are blessed.
Survivors include his parents; his sister, Madalyn Freeman; maternal grandparents, Greg and Andrea Chalus of LaSalle; paternal grandmother, Diane Freeman of Utica; aunts, uncles and cousins, Mike and Kim Kaschke and their children John, Sarah, Ben, Isabel and Gretchen, Scott Chalus, Tim Chalus, Dan Klask, Amanda Chalus and Brian and Deana Herkert and their children, Cole and Kaitlyn.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Larry Freeman.
Pallbearers will be Scott Scholle, Chris Scholle, Skyler Frederick, Nick Martin, Ben Kaschke, Hunter Greene and Vinny Funk.
