Gary fought a hard battle every single day for almost 13 years trying to defeat his cancer. Sadly, his body grew tired and God called him home so he could live his eternal life without pain. Gary was a devoted husband to Patti. They recently celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary. He loved his son Cameron so very much and was so proud of the young man that he had become. Gary is the beloved son to Fredrick (Nova) and the late Marion. The wonderful son-in-law to Bonnie and the late Tony. The loving brother to Jean, Karla (Bernie) and the late Cheryl. The brother-in-law to Jeff (Theresa) and Tom. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a large and wonderful work family. He was a friend to was born and raised here in Trenton, graduating from Trenton High School in the year 1981. Gary loved watching sports. He was an avid fan of University of Michigan football, the Redwings and the Tigers. Gary loved playing golf with his lifelong friend Mike and he was an accomplished bowler, bowling a “300” game not once, but twice. Gary relished the time he had tinkering in his garage and building various items. He was a truly wonderful handyman. He always helped to build any of Patti’s “honey do” projects. Gary transformed the Schleicher household into a home for his family. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix or make. Gary’s sudden passing left many feeling like they didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to him.
