Gary “Rodney” Roberts age 66 departed this life on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Kent General Hospital in Dover DE.
Rodney was born in Easton, MD on May 25, 1952 to the late Eva Mae Roberts and William Ayers.
Rodney was educated in the Talbot Co Public Schools, then he enlisted in the United States Army. He worked for Andrew Kelly Construction for many years. He later decided to become self-employed, which he loved.
Rodney was the jack of all trades. He loved building, cooking, lawn care and “dollar bills”. Rodney will be greatly missed by his family, especially for being a comedian.
Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter; Kiera Roberts, and a daughter he raised like his own, Janeira Beulah, three grandchildren; Ty’era, Jayzon, and Ja’leah, three sisters; Hope Copper, Linda Roberts, and Deanna Roberts (Stevie), seven nieces; Tonya, Tandra, Rosalind, Alexa, Inez, Shamaine, and Lanay, five nephews; Melvin Jr., Dale, Tyrone, Monte, and Marshawn, two aunts; Theresa DeShields and Robeina Johnson, one uncle; Frederick DeShields, one sister-in-law; Faith Roberts, a special companion; Mabel Donophan, and special friends; James Camper, Donald Benson, Wendell Wilmer and David Washington and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Rodney was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Roberts, two uncles, Douglas Atlas DeShields, and Herbert J. DeShields Jr.; two nephews; Kirk E. Earle and Devwon Roberts.
