GaryRay Butler, 43 was born on July 1, 1967 in Englewood Colorado to Ray & Jean Butler of Littleton Colorado. He is married to Ana Karina Magallanes-Rios.
Gary attended All Souls School, Mullen and Littleton High Schools, graduating from Littleton High School on May 30, 1985. He had a great love for learning. He attended Arapahoe Community College, Metro College and Colorado University of Denver with an emphasis in Accounting and Computers. He held many certificates and most recently completed a Certificate in Advance Computer Networking from CU of Denver. He was a Certified Microsoft professional, Member of the National Association of Communication System Engineers, and the American Payroll Association.
He loved his job working for CH2M Hill as it gave him the opportunity to use math and computers to which he was very good at doing. He was very good at playing a practical joke too, with co-workers on the receiving end.
Gary’s main passions were reading a good book, especially anything Science fiction, watching a great movie like “Star wars” or “The Lord of the Rings”. And he was an avid computer game wiz. He enjoyed sports in the form of Football, Basketball and catching a Rockies Baseball game with his Dad. Having Sunday dinner with his Mom, holiday get together with his family. He thoroughly enjoyed eating spicy foods and Salsa Dancing with his wife Karina. Walking his dog “Blitzen” and playing with his two cats Catalina and Mojo. Gary loved animals.
Gary is survived by his wife Karina, Parents Ray & Jean Butler of Littleton Colorado, Sister Alicia Samuelson and bother in law Greg Samuelson of Yampa Colorado, Nephew Cody Samuelson of Yampa Colorado, Niece Kaycee Jean Sidwell and her husband Tyrel of Eaton Colorado, Niece Kelsey Samuelson of Yampa Colorado and a Great nephew Jordan Sidwell and Great niece Kara Sidwell of Eaton Colorado, Aunt Leone Hay of Ft. Steele Wyoming, Aunt Dorothy Everist Rawlins Wyoming, cousins Verlin “Buster” Everist of Las Vegas Nevada, Jeanne Childress, (Her daughters Sara, Laura and son James of Las Vegas, Nevada) , Marie Smith (husband Dale, and her children Hamp & Cassie) of Billings Montana, Marji Gilbert and her husband Gary and their children Elijah and Isaac from Ft. Steele Wyoming and all of the wonderful friends and colleagues he has met.
Gary was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents John and Alice Hay of Longmont Colorado and Paternal Grandparents Ray D. Butler Sr. of Littleton Colorado and Louise Williams of Denver Colorado. And most recently an Uncle John Hay of Ft. Steele Wyoming.
All Gary’s life he was always a happy, compassionate and kind person and will be greatly missed by his wife, family, friends and colleagues.
