Gary Michael Wassenberg, 55, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on December 5, 1958, in Humboldt, Nebraska to Ray and Marie (Zinn) Wassenberg. He grew up in Humboldt and attended Humboldt Public Schools. Gary graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1977. He later entered the United States Air Force on September 1, 1978 and served his country until being honorably discharged on August 31, 1982. After his military service, Gary returned to Humboldt and has lived there since. Gary passed away at his home in Humboldt, Nebraska on Monday, December 23, 2013, having reached the age of fifty-five years and eighteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Marie (Zinn) Wassenberg.
Gary is survived by his brother Robert Wassenberg of Lincoln, NE; sisters: Patricia Burow and her husband Ken of Indianapolis, IN; Janet Ann Usher and her husband Dean of Lincoln, NE; Janice Sue Wassenberg of Lincoln, NE; Shirley Bernecker and her husband Mike of Plainview, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
