Gary M. Jaronik, 52, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2008 in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on March 23, 1955 to the late Chester C. and Julia I. (Szilagyi) in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with his parents; one nephew, Tom Kovacs also preceded him in death.
Gary graduated from Marian High School and the University of Wisconsin, where he received a masters degree in Psychology and Education.
Mr. Jaronik worked as a counselor for 18 years at Safe Station Youth Service Bureau in South Bend, IN. Prior to that, he was the Principal at St. Jude Catholic School in South Bend.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy (husband Steve) Kovacs of South Bend, IN; two nephews, Christopher (wife Jodi) McKee of Queens, NY; and Jeremy McKee of Denver, CO.
Mr. Jaronik dedicated his entire life to helping children and making sure that they received a fair chance in life and had an opportunity to receive an education.
