Gary Lynn Clark

CLINTON – Gary Lynn Clark passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2015 while watching his favorite team the Chicago Cubs. He was born October 15, 1945 in Ogden, UT to Ruth Rhodes and Dale B. Clark. He lived in Liberty, UT next to his grandparents until he was about 5 years old when he moved to Washington Terrace. He attended Bonneville High school and enlisted in the U.S. Navy on his 17th birthday. He completed boot camp in San Diego, CA and was based out of Oahu, Hawaii on the USS Remora submarine, where he was a submariner and achieved the rank of Engineman Third Class.

He married Carolynn Wilde on March 12, 1968, they had 2 sons Dustin and Joshua. They were later divorced. On December 29, 1979 he married his sweetheart Shanna L. Perkes and was blessed with his favorite daughter Brook D’Ette. Together Gary and Shanna had one son Casey. The family was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 29, 1990. They raised their family in Layton and then moved to Clinton in 2013.

Gary lived in the Clinton 7th Ward and served in many callings throughout his life. He served with his wife in 2010 in the Martin’s Cove mission and was currently serving as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple. Family was his top priority, he is affectionately known by his grandchildren as the “king bobo-head.” He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid trivia and history buff. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and a good road trip.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers, Kent and Paul Clark, Sister, Sally Elliott, and step son, Jeffrey W. Hites. He is survived by his wife Shanna Clark, Sister, Nancy Clark, children: Dustin W. Clark, Brook (Todd) Jordan, Joshua K. (Katrina) Clark, M. Casey (Asillin) Clark, step-son, James E. Hites, and 11 grandchildren.
