Gary Lee Newton, of Chesaning, died unexpectedly on September 22, 2023, at his home. He was 70 years old.Gary was born on July 5, 1953, in Owosso, MI. The only son of Howard Newton and Irene Schmiege. He went to trade school, where he earned his journeymans certification. He then went on to work as an electrician for the city of Saginaw. On December 1, 2000, he married the love of his life, Denise Dobshinsky. They spent 22 amazing years together.Aside from working as an electrician for 50 years, he also had a niche for tinkering with old antiques and equipment. He was determined to find a way to make them work. He also had a passion for restoring antique vehicles. He dabbled with photography earlier in life. Capturing some weddings, family photos, and other special life events.Gary is survived by his wife, Denise Newton; daughters, Heather (Jim) Newton, Monica (Chad) Klaber; and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Irene Newton, sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Brand) Marshall, and many cousins.
