Gary Lee Hart, 61, of New Castle, passed away April 16, 2016, at Tennova Medical Center in Cleveland, Tennessee. Gary was born September 12, 1954, in Anderson, Indiana.

He graduated from Highland High School in 1972. Gary was married to Bobette (McCune) Hart on July 28, 1973; they were happily married for 42 years. Gary retired from Delphi (Delco Remy) in Anderson, Indiana in 2002. During his 30 years with Delphi, he endeavored in several businesses; Hart’s Pizza, Dependable Tree Service, Hart’s Auto Sales, & Hart Brothers Restaurant Supply. In 1991, Gary & Bobette purchased San-D-Beach Campground in New Castle, Indiana, and transformed it into the beautiful Walnut Ridge Campground. In 1996, Gary and his two boys founded Walnut Ridge Family RV Sales, where the three worked side by side for 18 years until retiring as partners on June 30, 2014. Gary had a passion for God, spreading his word wherever and whenever he could. He would minister to the residents at Fall Creek Retirement Village on Sundays, lead countless bible studies, and read and taught the word to his grandchildren. Gary will leave a legacy of love not only for his family and God but for everyone he came in contact with. He touched so many lives with his ministry of love, giving, and compassion. He was the perfect example of a husband, father, papaw, friend, and mentor. Gary enjoyed many activities that brought him joy and always put a smile on his face. Some of his favorites include: winning at cards, riding on his tractor, firing up his chainsaw, working on the farm, playing ball with the grandkids, taking the grandkids for rides on his ATVs & golf cart, working in his garden, going out to eat, attending the grandkids’ games, singing, and spending time with family and friends.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Bobette (McCune) Hart of New Castle; 2 sons, Nathan (Laura) Hart of New Castle and Justin (Kasey) Hart of New Castle; 5 grandchildren, Austin Hart, Emma Hart, Olivia Hart, Josie Hart, and Cameron Hart; Father and Mother-in-law, Bob & Edna McCune of Anderson; 3 brothers, Michael (Susan) Hart of Pendleton, Ron (Pam) Hart of Pendleton, and Doug (Pam) Hart of Anderson; several very special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hart; mother, Deloris (Crull) Hart; sister, Beverly Wilson.
