Gary L. Myers, 82, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021. He was born on August 31, 1938 in Elkhart to the late Carroll and Gwene (Klingensmith) Myers.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (James) Meehan of Pittsburgh, PA, Kathleen (Bob) Escolme of Over Kellet, England, and Deanna (Bill) Soost of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Meredith (Chris) Work, Patrick Meehan, Kelsey (Matt) Philie, Alec Escolme, and Olivia Soost; two great grandsons, Mason and Knox; sisters, Darlene (Tony) Bourdon of Bristol and Lila Martz of South Bend; brother, Ted (Margaret) Myers of Elkhart; and dear friend, Mary Doyle of Elkhart. He is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Colleen K. Myers.

Gary was a hard worker who was always determined to finish any job he started. He lived in Colorado and Virginia because of his work, making many wonderful friends in those locations. Gary was an artist, starting a woodturning business (MyerWood), building a house with Colleen and doing all of the interior woodwork, and creating beautiful gardens. He had a lifelong love and appreciation of trains, traveling by train when possible, and volunteering at the Elkhart Amtrak station. Gary also enjoyed reading, researching family genealogy, and appreciated all the information available at the library. Most of all, he was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. Gary will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
