Gary L. Miner Sr.Age 63 of Owosso passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Funeral Services will be held 5pm Saturday September 22, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral home, Owosso Chapel with Reverend Ray Strawser officiating.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4pm until the time of service.Gary was born January 24, 1955 in Flint, the son of Howard and Beverly (Clapp) Miner.He attended Owosso Public Schools.Gary married Sandra Bignell on November 8, 1986.Gary spent over 20 years as a truck driver working O.T.R.Gary was an avid outdoorsman. Through the years he taught his sons, grandsons and nephews the “outdoor way”. He looked forward to deer camp with the boys, at his favorite spot in Omer, Michigan. He took many camping trips with his family, loved taking anyone fishing, most recently a day fishing trip with his daughters, sons and grandson. Gary was a “shade tree mechanic” tinkering or fixing anything that he thought needed to be fixed (even if it didn’t). He was an animal lover, bringing home many dogs and facing the music of his wife later. What Gary loved the most was his family, married 32 years, 6 kids, 12 grandkids, 3 great-grandkids, how could he not. He was always there for anyone to talk to, door was always open with a cold beer waiting and ears to listen.Gary is survived by his wife Sandra; children Michelle, Shawn (Mark), Laura, Gary Jr., Ryan and Neal; grandchildren Daniel, Nichole, Chelsea, Jarrod Jr., Mackenzie, Justin, Markie, Emilee, Ethan, Neveah, James and Lillian; great-grandchildren Levi, Chandler and Briella; mother Beverly; sister Faye (John) Spencer; mother-in-law Martha; many brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other loving family members.He was predeceased by his father; father-in-law James Bignell and his best four legged friend Zack.Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
