Gary L. Hotchkiss, 82, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, at Granger Nursing and Rehab Center in Granger, IA.
Gary was born February 10, 1939, in Woodward, IA, to Russell and Betty (Hoskinson) Hotchkiss. He married Margaret “Peggy” (Canney) Hotchkiss in September of 1954 and they made their home in the Granger/Madrid area where they raised their son Chris. Gary worked for Christenson Lawn Care for 15 years, retiring in the spring of 2018.
Gary enjoyed his family, his faith, living on the beautiful farm in Granger for the last five years, his Iowa Hawkeyes and taking care of his adoring chickens.
Gary is survived by his son, Chris Hotchkiss of Coralville, IA, sister, Nancy (Lloyd Lull) Howser, two half sisters, Belle (Russ) Maurer and Julie (Steve) Farr; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Peggy, three infant children, his sister Kae Herr and his half brother Bob.
