Gary, the son of Russell and Bertha (Bell) Hoen, was born on June 5, 1937 in Newton. He grew up in Newton and attended Newton schools.
Gary is survived by his sister, Marge (Hoen) Niewald of California; sister-in-law, Mary (Morrison) Stone of Virginia; and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; a brother, Bob Hoen; and a sister, Carol (Hoen) Hawkins.
