Gary Gene Thornton, age 59, died peacefully Tuesday morning at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Harvey Preston Thornton and Bessie Jordon Thornton. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Coker. He was a member of Eureka Christian Church and was formerly employed with AP Parts.
