Averill Park – Gary F. Allard, 78, of Burden Lake Road died suddenly on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Halifax Hospital Daytona Beach, FL.
Born in Burlington, VT, he was son of the late Raymond A. Allard and Angelina Russo Allard and was married to Patricia A. Gundrum Allard for 58 years. He had resided in Winooski, VT, Rensselaer, NY, Daytona Beach Shores, FL and built his home in Averill Park, NY. He was a graduate of Rensselaer High School.
Gary worked for Smith Corona for over 25 years and then became the owner and operator of Allard’s Business Machines for 19 years before retiring in 2002. In the summer for the past 13 years he worked with his son, Gary, on construction jobs for Do-It-All Home Service.
Gary was a person with a larger-than-life personality and he found enjoyment in everything he did. He role modeled the values of hard work and the love of family. He called his family members daily to chat…almost always during the dinner hour.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his sons, Gary (Tracy) Allard of Averill Park and Steven (Christine) Allard of Averill Park; his grandchildren, Kirstie (Justin) Bradway, Gregory T. Allard, Tyler Heritage, Jake Heritage, and Hope Heritage; his great-grandchildren, Trevor, Gavin and Savannah Bradway; his sister Sharon (David) Foust; several nieces and nephews; and his Yorkie, Jasper Jingles. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Kenneth Allard and his son, Gregory J. Allard.
