Gary Edward Johnson age 67 a resident of Rockwall, TX  since 2018  passed away from this life on June 26, 2021, and into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior. Gary was surrounded by his children Ben and Hannah along with Linda and many family members in Denver, CO

Gary was born to Charles Edward Johnson and Dona Jean, in Seattle, WA on February 8, 1954. Gary is survived by his mother Dona Jean Miller, wife Marion, and children  Ben Johnson and fiance Lynette, Hannah and husband Robert Hannah, stepdaughters Kira,Haley, Amanda and Chelsea, brother Mark Johnson and wife Lisa, Randy Johnson and wife Susan. Linda Johnson and family

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles (Chuck) and Bobbie Johnson.

Gary graduated from Park Hill High School in Kansas City, MO in 1972  and attended University of Washington, where he received a degree in business in 1979.

In 1964 while in Alaska the strongest earthquake in US history registering 9.2 on the Richter scale hit. Gary was there with his mom on Mt. Alyeska, skiing on Good Friday. They were stranded there for several days because of the avalanches that blocked the only road back to Anchorage. What a way to learn to love snow skiing.

Over the years, one of Mark and Randy’s favorite memories was when Gary would come and stay with them in Kansas City, MO. My “three sons”, “three musketeers”, or “three amigos” describe their love of being together as a family and enjoying their time together on Lake Waukomis- swimming and sailing in the summers and ice skating in the winters.  Many of you all may not know…. But Gary was somewhat of a super model back in the 1970’s. He had done some modeling for The Jones store which was based in Kansas City.

In the early 70’s Chuck packed the family up and moved to Texas where living on the lake was a good life. The summers were always fun and “The fourth of July”  parties were the best around.

After living in the Dallas area for many years Gary moved to Denver, CO. where he started his family and called HOME.  He loved the great outdoors- skiing, hiking and lazy summer days spent on a houseboat at Lake Powell. One of  his many favorites was time spent in the kitchen, cooking with Hannah alongside him, she was “the apple of his eye”. Gary was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing on many courses with his wife and kids and occasionally on the luscious greens of Maui, HI.

Gary retired from the telecom industry in 2018. He moved back to the small town of Rockwall, TX along with his wife  Marion to the community of Lakeside Village where he spent most days on the golf course and volunteering with the HOA.
