Gary Eugene Stewart of Cocoa FI. passed into eternal life peacefully on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, surronded by his family. Gary was the beloved husband of Jean Stewart. Gary was born at the family home on November 30, 1939, in Centralia Illinois. The middle child of five children to the late Ralph and Freda Stewart. Living in a rural area, Gary attended elementary school in a small two room building. He attended Centralia Township High School Graduating in 1957 He continued his education at Kaskaskia Community College earning an associate of arts degree. While attending college he had numberous jobs, his favorite and one he was very proud of was with the Centralia Recreation Department where he and a former Globe Trotter started the Centralia boys club, teaching tumbling, basketball, and many other skills. Gary was then employed at the Illinois Central car shops. He was quickly promoted to Traveling Mechanical Inspector and ultimately to General Airbrake Engineer at The main offices in Chicago I. In 1976 he left the railroad and moved to Florida accomplishing his dream of working with real estate. Gary worked at several companies in Florida, Ultimatly working and excelling selling commercial Real Estate. He retired from Pruitt Real Estate commercial department. Gary was a fifty year Mason and Shriner belonging to The Bahia temple in Orlando, Florida. He joined and was very active in the Shrine Camping club and driving children to the Shrine hospital in Tampa Fl. Gary remained very active enjoying the florida outdoors boating and camping. Gary always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips, a loyal and generous friend to many. Gary was preceded in death by a son Jamie, daughter Crystal, parents Ralph and Freda Stewart, a brother Gilbert Stewart, three sisters Betty Shaver, Judy Deluca , and Diana Stewart. Gary is survived by his wife Jean Stewart, Daughter Lisa Stewart, granddaughter Rita Kidd, brother Darrell and Vickie Stewart step son William Loges and Susan, along with six nephews and three neices.
