Gary D. Steward, 75, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born January 9, 1946 in Huntington, IN to Carl Steward, Sr. and Edna Parker Steward. Gary was a Salvation Army minister. His memberships include the Eagles, American Legion Post 104, Grand Lodge of Texas, Rizpah Shrine, Grand Chapter of KY R.A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Madisonville KY, and the Knights Templar #27 of Madisonville, KY. He will always and forever be our ’Town Clown’.

His wife, Patricia M. Steward preceded him this past Wednesday, February 24, 2021. He is survived by his son Brian Steward and his wife Melissa, daughters Yvonne Walker and her husband Robby and Nicole Hoopingarner and her husband Billy. He has a brother Carl Steward, II, and a sister Linda Ealey; a sister-in-law Missy Steward and her children; grandchildren Xavier Nenneman, Xenia Rich (Nathan), Natalie and Lilliam Hoopingarner; Chandler, Bailey, and Gavin Steward, and great grandchildren Keilee, Maelee, and Leelan Rich and Khai and Hailey Nenneman, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Derrick Deon Steward, brothers Jerry and Larry Steward, and sister-in-law Thelma Steward.
