Gary Bruce Gregg died unexpectedly in Middletown, Connecticut, on January 26, 2022, at the age of 68. Born July 13, 1953, he grew up in Durham, CT, and played the fife in the Coginchaug Ancients Fife and Drums Corps during his youth. He was a competitive sports enthusiast while attending Durham Public Schools, playing soccer, track and field, and basketball, and was among the first class to graduate from Coginchaug Regional High in 1971. Gary lived his days as an artist by all accounts; his philosophy of “shooting from the hip,” etching out his own path, and applying his unusual perspective gave way to a genuinely unique individual, much like his style of painting.

Gary is survived by his partner and high school sweetheart Debbie Noster Robinson, sons Jon, Tyler, Baryn, daughter-in-law Taylor Gregg, grandson Micagah, and beloved siblings Mark Gregg and Kimberly Benvin. Gary also leaves behind in-law loved ones Jane Gregg, Barbara Gregg, Stan Benvin, niece Shawnna Gregg Grecco, nephews Jameson Gregg and Dustin Gregg, his dog Gronk, and countless others. Preceding him in death is his younger brother and best friend Kevin Gregg, Mother Ruth Gregg Brechlin, and Father Walter Gregg.
