Gary Alton Small, age 74, of Quakertown, passed away on May 17, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and family at home. He was the loving husband of Diane (Wolf) Small with whom they shared 19 years of marriage. Born in Hanover, NH, he was a son of the late Edson W. and Glenna E. (Wetherell) Small.
He graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1966. After graduation, Gary proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Gary spent over 40 years at Carson’s Helicopter, Inc. as a helicopter mechanic and retired as a foreman. Gary was proud to say he spent 50 total years in Aviation. He was a member of Springtown Fire Company for over 25 years. He was also a Fire Forest Warden for the State of Pennsylvania for over 30 years.
In his spare time, Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He spent many weekends riding his Honda Goldwing with his wife. Family was very important to him, and he treasured spending time with his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed attending his Granddaughter Ciara’s Soccer and LaCrosse Games. He was also very active in his church where he recently served as Church Council President.
Surviving along with his wife is son, Matthew Small (Shelly), step-sons, William Mory (Kellee), and Kenneth Mory (Jamie), grandchildren, Rachel, Logan, Christian, Ciara, Caleb, Alexa and JaedaRae and sister JoAnne Dupuis. He was predeceased by son, Michael DePace and sister Rosella Judkins.
