Gary A. Hollis, 70, of Hudson, passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2021. His passing came after a four-year battle with cancer that ultimately ended, but did not define his extraordinary life.

Gary was the son of the late Fred L. and Ann E. (Robbins) Hollis born on June 14, 1950. A graduate of Marlborough High School class of 1968, he went on to work at Raytheon for over 50 years, where he worked until his retirement in 2018. He was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Marlborough Lions Club.

After Gary decided to start his family in 1996, with the birth of his daughter Sarah, and Aaron in 1999, his dedication shifted to his two children. He never missed a volleyball or baseball game, school play, or any special event. He was their biggest fan and so proud to be their dad.

In his final years, he faced a new challenge; becoming “the healthiest man with cancer.” He was carried by his faith and strength and fought an incredible fight up until his very last hours. He cherished his final years with family and friends and will be remembered as a dedicated, faithful, family man.

Gary was predeceased by his brother Donald Hollis. He is survived by wife, Cindy L. (Macomber) Hollis, his daughter, Sarah Hollis and his son, Aaron Hollis, his brothers, Fred Hollis, Jr., and his wife Carol of San Antonio, NM, James E. Hollis of Marlborough, his sisters, Beverly Fiske of Lehigh Acres, FL, Linda Hollis Bryant and her husband Bruce of Belfast, ME, Ellen Hollis and her husband Bohdan Klucznyk of Scotch Plains, NJ, his sister-in-law, Ann Marie Hollis of Marlborough, his sister-in-law Brenda Calder and her husband Ken Calder of Hudson and many nieces and nephews.
