Salem: Garvin C. Williams, 80, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at his home on Main Street in Salem. He was born December 10, 1926 on Lambert’s Run, Harrison County. Mr. Williams is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Frances (Dawson) Williams whom he married on February 7, 1954 in Oakland, MD. Garvin is also survived by one sister, Zelma Burnett of Sunbridge Nursing and Rehab in Salem, by several nieces and nephews and by one special nephew Ronnie Williams and wife Mary Lou, and a special friend, Shirley Smith, of West Union, with whom he and his wife had shared many good times. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Lulu Shreves Williams; two brothers, Clarence Williams and an infant; three sisters, Garnet Davisson Phillips, Ethel Alton, and Madge Crews. Garvin loved animals, especially horses and dogs. He had three poodles which he loved dearly, as well as his new poodle, Muggins, which he had just received on Saturday.
