Garry was born on March 7, 1954 to Leslie and Bertine Mattix in Des Moines. He loved to ride his bike when he could, and work on anything that had an engine.
Garry is survived by his son, Garry, Jr.; grandson, Hunter Mattix; sister, Sue (Dennis) Buchannan and many nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gene and Richard.
