Garry Baldwin, son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Carrie Love Baldwin, departed this life on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Vidant Duplin Hospital, Kenansville, NC.
Garry Baldwin was born in Fort Bragg, NC on December 6, 1957. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Bryant Swamp Baptist Church in Bladenboro, NC. He attended Bladen County schools and got his GED from Bladen Community College. He later was trained to be a skilled auto mechanic under the teaching of his father Theodore Baldwin’s guidance and also trained at Frank’s Auto in Bladenboro, NC. In addition to being a skilled mechanic he was also trained by his father to be an electrician, plumber and contracting skills; he was a jack-of-all-trades and known by many not only for his skills but also his friendly personality. Garry held a number of positions with companies in the area over the years includ-ing Top Notch Auto, Lumberton, NC and the last place he worked was with Murphy Brown in Clarkton, NC which was near where he lived. Garry loved working with his hands and in his garden. He had a warm and friendly personality, great sense of humor and loved his family and friends.
He had two sisters, Catalina Baldwin and Johnsia Milton, who preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his stepmother, Grace Baldwin of Bladenboro, NC; two brothers, Gregory Bald-win (Corine) of Lumberton, NC and Kenny Smith (Maria) of Spring Lake, NC; Veronica Gillespie, Mariea Ruffin (Russell), Donnetta Baldwin, Carrie Baldwin-Singletary (Harvey) all of Bladenboro, NC; Judia Purdie of Charlotte, NC; Angela McMillan of Southern Pines, NC; Barbara Lennon (Delwynne) of Raleigh, NC, Shrre Dinnerson-Dixon (Rick); two young ladies who he considered as his own daughters, Danielle Graham of Brooklyn, New York and Sherise Graham of Charlotte, NC; three uncles, six aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
