Garnet L. Ehlenbach, age 81, of Salem, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Hospice House in Poland. She was born March 9, 1933 in Salienville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Cecil and Dorothy (Brock) Barker. Garnet was a Methodist by faith. She was a 1950 graduate of Salineville High School. She was a member of the Ladies Aux of Salem, VFW Post 892, The Red Hat Club of Salem and an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Her husband, Charles J. “Jake” Ehlenbach, whom she married October 30, 1952, preceded her in death July 21, 2003. A son, Brady Ehlenbach and a brother, Wayne Barker also preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Nick Ehlenbach of Monument, Colorado, and Thomas Ehlenbach of Salineville, Ohio; a daughter, Cecilia (Jerry) Vona of Canfield; sister, Claudia Laughlin of Chardon, Ohio; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
