Galen Roger McBride, age 87, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away October 20, 2020 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.

Galen was born July 23, 1933 to Fred and Grace (Schmidt) McBride in Friend, Nebraska. He attended school in Friend. He began working for Houston Truck Lines in Friend.
He was drafted and served in the United States Army from June 17, 1953 until May 4, 1955. When he returned from the service he lived in Genoa, and in 1957 he was united in marriage to Bobbi Anne Buck. To this union two children were born. The family resided in Genoa before moving to Stromsburg in 1970, where they owned and operated McBride Transport.   
 In 1983 he moved to York and was united in marriage to Geraldine Johnson. He owned and operated the York Pawn Shop. In 1991, they moved to Columbus where they lived for 28 years.  His wife Geraldine passed away in 2014. Galen returned to Stromsburg in 2019, moving to the Midwest Covenant Home April 15, 2020, where he resided until his passing.
Galen enjoyed working in his yard and canning the vegetables from his garden.
Survivors include his daughters Mick (Jeff) Filloon of Gilbert, AZ and bj McBride of Kansas City, MO; grandsons O’Neil Filloon and McClain Filloon of Gilbert, AZ; his brothers Gene McBride, Wayne McBride, DWayne McBride, and sisters Norma (McBride) Longnecker, Valorie (McBride) Whipple, and LaVonne (McBride) Abela.  
 He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, his sister Twyla (McBride) McNeff, and his parents Fred and Grace McBride.
