Gail Jay Staley, age 85, passed away at his home on March 28, 2017 in Twin Falls, Idaho, of causes incident to age.
Gail was born on April 22, 1931 in Kimberly, Idaho, to Benjamin Jay Staley, and Sarah Cloe Sudweeks Staley. Gail was the youngest of five children and the only boy.
Gail grew up in Kimberly and was very active and energetic. He sang, played the clarinet and excelled in numerous sports. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1949. Gail then attended Brigham Young University where he met his sweetheart Jean Carlsen. They were married on March 14, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jean passed away just two months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.
After Jean’s passing in 2002 Gail married Verla Ruth Stanger. Ruth has been a kind and faithful companion to Gail during the past 15 years.
Just before his marriage to Jean, Gail began his employment working for S. A. High and Sons’s in the irrigation pump business. When he retired after 53 years of working Gail was co-owner of G. J. Verti-Line Pumps, Inc., with his son Eric.
