Gail Saldana (Reed) passed peacefully into Heaven on 11/6/22 after a short illness. She was born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Gail graduated high school at 15 and went to nursing school becoming a nurse at 17. Early working life was spent in Pittsburgh, PA. She helped delivering babies & then on to traditional nursing. She married and later divorced a Doctor.
Gail loved to knit. she invented her own patterns and enjoyed sharing them with friends. She often said her only vice was “buying yarn”!
Gail retired at 70 to care for her husband at home. He died in 2019.
Gail never had children. However, Mat Drewniany entered her life in the last few years and Gail often said “God sent him from heaven to help her”, and we all believed her. Mat helped in many ways especially in the last month at home. They shared a special bond. Megan and Kaitlin, her caregivers were amazing. Her family are all deceased. She treasured her special friends, Mat Drewniany, Jim Bishop, Naoko Hirota , Joy Schweitzer and Jeremy Stent.
