Gage Dean Shipp was born August 5, 1970 in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated
from this life on March 12, 2021 at his home in Dewey, Arizona at the age of 50,
passing quietly in his sleep.
Gage is survived by his mother Caroline, father Herb and brother Blen, his three
children, Hayden Lee Love Shipp, Hunter Earl Shipp and Gage Michael Shipp.
Gage moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1979 with his family and attended
Chaparral High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and
served his country during “Operation Desert Storm”. After serving he began
working in property management with his family. Never standing still, he was
always dreaming up new projects and businesses on the side to support his
young family.
During this time he began to face personal challenges that separated him from
those he loved the most. He persevered through them over time and with faith in
God, came out the other side. His life took on a new and greater purpose, that
of helping others through the addiction that had plagued him. He began seeking
out others whose lives were wounded and surrounded them with understanding
and a sense of hope that they could become whole again. Realizing his gift of
caring for others, he wanted to take it to a higher level, so he enrolled in the
psychological counseling program at Grand Canyon University, earning his
Master’s Degree in Counseling. His greatest joy became seeking out the hurting
and forgotten people, enabling them to begin their journey to wholeness with
others and God.
The legacy of a life is not measured by the person’s own failures, successes,
defeats or awards. It is measured by the hope, joy and faith implanted in the
lives of those they leave behind. Mentor, strength, hero, friend…you were always
there for those who needed you. We will forever miss your hearty laugh, big
hugs and great smile.
