Gabriel “Sonny” Dadio, 80, formerly of Putnam Ave., Hamden passed away Dec. 7, 2010 in The Arden House. He was the husband of the late Barbara Pastore Dadio. Mr. Dadio was born in New Haven Feb. 16, 1930, son of the late James and Theresa Signore Dadio. He worked as produce manager for A & P Supermarkets for 27 years from 1965 to 1993. An avid farmer, he worked on his family farm, G. Dadio & Son on Putnam Avenue for most of his life. He was a member of the Hamden Republican Town Committee and served as president of the Hamden Board of Zoning Appeals. He is survived by three sons, James (Norine Page) Dadio, Gabriel (Dorene) Dadio Jr. and Christopher Dadio, all of Hamden; four daughters, Theresa (Donald) Judd, Mary Rajeh, Nancy (Kevin) Dadio Coyle and Lynn (Joseph) Alcott, all of Hamden; a brother, Steven (Barbara) Dadio of Wellington, FL.; a sister, Theresa “Dolly” (Mark) Scavino of Hamden; and 14 grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Kathleen and Elizabeth Dadio.
