Gabriel “Haba” Robert Saucedo, passed away on May 9, 2022 surrounded by his family at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was 83 years of age. He was born on November 30, 1938 in Gallup, New Mexico.
Gabe was a hardworking role model with a strong work ethic, he began working at seven years of age at the family gas station. He had previously worked for Rico Motor Company for 37 years, then worked an additional 10 years for the City of Gallup as the fleet manager. After retirement he found great joy in teaching his grandson Ryan to play golf, fish and the game of chess. Family was always a priority. Gabe volunteered for many organizations including Mid-west Cap, serving as a board member and vice president, also serving on the Gallup planning and zoning commission, Joint Powers Commission, and was a little league umpire. He was a devoted catholic, even serving as an acolyte as a young man and involved with the Catholic Indian Center. He was a former Elks Lodge member. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and was an avid golfer, and was active with the Sun Country Golf Association serving as a past president. He was loved and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Cindy Saucedo. His children; James Saucedo and his wife Kathy, Robert Saucedo, Lynnette Sheridan and her husband Vince, and Claudette Saucedo. His four grandchildren; Ernest Martinez, Gloria Saucedo-Minter, Rosie Saucedo and Ryan Saucedo. Ten great-grandchildren, Ten great-great grandchildren. His remaining brothers; Jimmy Saucedo and his wife Toni, Johnny Saucedo and his wife Barbara. Along with numerous nephews and nieces that also survive him.
Gabe was preceded in death by his first wife Eileen McCune Saucedo. His daughter; JoAnn Saucedo-Vigil. His parents; Gabriel Patrick and Clara Cordova Saucedo. His siblings; Phillip Saucedo, Janet Marzilli, Lorraine Saucedo, and Charles Steven Saucedo Sr.
On Monday May 16, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, at 11:30 AM a Memorial Rosary will be led by Mother Magda Garcia.
His urn bearer will be James Saucedo.
Honorary urn bearers include; Vince Sheridan, Bill Martinez, Bill Armstrong, Alfred Abeita Sr., Joe Pena, and Eddie Ortega.
The family would like to thank Janus Tillian for her loving care and assistance to Gabe and the family over these past few months.
