Furman Eugene Derrick, Jr., 82, passed into the arms of Jesus on September 21, 2015.

A son of the late Furman Eugene Derrick, Sr., and Dorothy Dixon Derrick, he was born July 30, 1933, in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a retired territory sales manager with Western Auto and was a very active parishioner at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Andalusia, Alabama, and was a parishioner at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Tallahassee. He was a graduate of the Citadel, served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, enjoyed playing golf, and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nell Janice Drew Derrick; children, Cathy Derrick, Debbie Johnson, Donna (Andy) Divine; grandchildren, Steven (Jessica) Johnson, Adam Johnson, Brittany Divine, Amber Divine, Kristan (William) Davis, Andrew “Bo” (Sandra) Divine, Bryce (Shannon) Divine; great-grandchildren, Athena Johnson, Easton Johnson, Bryson Tyre, Korbyn Divine, Sterlyn Divine, Will Davis, Kyleigh Davis, Harper Divine, and Adilynn Hart; aunt, Sara Louise Hilton; brother-in-law, Frank (June) Drew; sister-in-law, Linda (Richard) Hines. His parents, and a brother, Donald Derrick, preceded him in death.
