Funeral Services for Mr. Furman Carl Wages, age 84, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home; and also Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, service time.Burial will be in Gipson Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.Rev. Scott Downes will officiate the funeral service with a Masonic graveside service to follow.A native of Pearl River County, MS, he served in the MS National Guard, was a retired Pipeline Inspector. Mr. Wages worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding, Pascagoula, MS; for Williams, Sedco & Horn, Peru, South America; for Max Welders, Morgan City, LA; and Bronco Construction of Baton Rouge, LA. Mr. Wages also worked as a landscape contractor for Wagewood Gardeners for a short period in the 90’s. Before his retirement, Mr. Wages worked as a pipeline inspector in Louisiana, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, and Mississippi. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Picayune. He was a Lifetime Mason and Past Master of Moses Cook Lodge #111. Mr. Wages enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching old movies. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Emelia Moeller Wages; his grandparents, Oscar and Emily Smith Moeller and Daniel and Christine Hartman Wages; his older brother Leonard Wages; and his grandson Tyler Anthony Wages.Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 61 years, Melva Kay Mitchell Wages, his children, Furman Karl (Lisa Kay) Wages, Anthony Raynard (Laurie Anne) Wages, and Jane Annchen Wages; his grandchildren: Ethan Karl Wages, Garrett Logan Wages, Emma Victoria Wages, Hannah Rae Wages, Katelyn Anne Wages, Alexa Marie Wages, and Luke Anthony Wages; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
