Charles F. “Fritz” Collins, Jr., 69, of Northampton, formerly of Bethlehem, died Friday, November 5, 2010, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. He was the loving husband of Mary E. (Gresho) Collins for 45 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Charles and Beatrice (Munsch) Collins, Sr.

He proudly served his county in the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He attended Penn State University and was an avid Penn State Football fan. Fritz retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation after 32 years where he served as the Director of Human Resources. He was involved in numerous activities at the Clubhouse at Willow Green in Northampton.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, dining out, playing cards, and vacationing either on the sea or at the sea. He will be remembered by his friends for his quick wit and affable nature.

Survivors: he will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary at home; sons, Christopher C. Collins of Wilkes Barre and Matthew M. Collins of Northampton; brothers, Gene Collins and his wife Cass of Linwood, NJ and Don Collins and his wife Brenda of Findley, Ohio; grandchildren, Morgan Collins and Jesse Peters. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
