Fritz Hofer Sr., 81 of Severna Park, MD passed away on December 31, 2022.
Fritz was born on July 27, 1941, in Graz, Austria to the late Friedrich Hofer and Mathilde (Huber) Hofer. After losing his father in World War II, He was raised in Bruck an der Mur, Austria by his mother and stepfather; Franz Mayr whom he adored. He was the oldest of two children. After completing his education, he attended the Austrian Hotelier Association Institute where he studied to be a waiter and chef. He journeyed to America in 1976 to pursue his lifelong passion of being a chef and owning his own restaurant. Fritz met Patricia Tart in 1981. They married in 1985 and had three children. He opened his first restaurant (Fritz’s of Fells Point) in 1986.
Fritz leaves to cherish his loving memory his children; Shannon Woodward and husband Justin, Fritz Hofer Jr. and wife Julianne, Patrick Hofer, 4 Grandchildren; Austin, Max, Emmett, and Aubrey, sister; Marianne Caser, nephew; Thomas Caser, and his angel here on earth; Sheila McCown.
