Friedrich Ferdinand “Fred” Hegel, 69, of Satsuma, passed from this life on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at his home following an extended illness. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he resided in Satsuma since 2014 moving there from Monticello, Indiana. Fred received his bachelor’s degree in business and owned and operated the Ten Pin Alley / Manor Lounge in Delphi, Indiana. In addition to his love of bowling, Fred also loved boating and watersports and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Friedrich “Fritz” Hegel and Anna Metzger Hegel.
Fred is survived by his wife, Rachel Hegel of Satsuma, 2 sons, Eric Hegel and Justin Hegel of Lafayette, IN, 2 stepchildren, Brooke Story (Greyson) of Michigan City, IN and Abigail Albin (Zachary) of Wolcott, IN and 3 grandchildren, Sophie Albin, Brayden Story, and Calliope Albin.
