On the evening of October 5, 2021, Mrs. Frieda Rael died quietly after an extended illness. She passed away peacefully with family and friends at her side. She leaves behind those she cherished and loved to enter into a new life of eternal peace in the presence of our Lord God in heaven.

Frieda was born in Pass Creek, Colorado on November 15, 1931, to Sam and Edna Vasquez. She spent much of her youth in Las Vegas, New Mexico where she met and married the father of her three children, Aladino Lopez. They moved to Albuquerque in 1952 where she began to raise her children with selfless unconditional love. Frieda would be more than a homemaker, joining workforce until she retired in 1984.  She would spend her retirement years actively and generously engaged as a volunteer at Manzano Family Center several times a week.  Frieda, also, loved being a member of the Highland Senior Center Quilting Club.  However, she loved nothing better than sharing time in Christian fellowship and the Word of God at Monterey Baptist Church.

She leaves behind most heart felt memories to her son, Donald Lopez; to her brother, Edmond Vasquez; to her great grandchildren, Sammy and John Lopez; to her many nieces and nephews; and to the numerous extended family and friends.  In addition, Frieda leaves all of us with the following thoughts, meditation, and words: “find happiness in all your joys and take the time to learn what God’s love is and remember I will see you again in heaven.”
