Fredrick “Fred” Elias Blakney, 79
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Fredrick “Fred” Elias Blakney, 79, of Kingston, Idaho, passed away December 11, 2022 at the family home of Kingston. He was born October 16, 1943 in Kellogg, Idaho; Fred was the son of Leonard and Evelyn (Schneberger) Blakney.
Fred has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life. He attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1962.
Fred first married Janet Pedersen in November of 1962; they later divorced.
Fred first worked at the Bunker Hill Mining Company Zinc Plant; he then owned and operated a logging business. Fred and Karon then owned and operated Silver Valley Cleaning for forty plus years.
Fred loved and adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they meant the world to him. He would so enjoy the special holiday dinners that were held in the basement of the family home. Fred also loved the outdoors- hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, boating, four-wheeling and he especially enjoyed riding in his Samurai.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Karon Blakney of the family home of Kingston; two children Jeff and Shelly Blakney of Post Falls, Idaho, Ron Blakney and Vicki Huff also of Post Falls; two step-children Kathleen Siegfried of Kingston, Idaho, Jerry and Giavanna Siegfried of Osburn, Idaho; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; one sister Betty and Don Micnak of Missoula, Montana; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Norman Blakney.
