Upland: Fredrick E. “Fred” White, 59, passed away February 12, 2012, in IU Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
He was born in Marion, the son of the late Paul and Barbara (Schick) White. Fred graduated from Eastbrook High School in 1971. After graduating, he worked at Foster Forbes, Marion and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Ball State University. He married Karen McCafferty on December 17, 1982, in West Lafayette, Indiana. He had lived in Upland for over 30 years and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid fan of Eastbrook football and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Gas City.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, Upland; a daughter, Ashley (Mat) Jones, Marion; three grandchildren, Braden, Ember, and Aiden Jones; two brothers, Robert (Pam) White, Marion, and Dan (Teresa) White, Swayzee; two sisters, Janet (Bob) Purtee, Swayzee, and Kim White, Huntington; his Mother-in-law, Louise McCafferty, Noblesville; brothers-in-law, Mark (Elaine) McCafferty, Westfield, Brad McCafferty, Zionsville, and Craig (Ann) McCafferty, McCordsville; and a sister-in-law, Leslie (Dick) Weigel, Noblesville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Bolander, a father-in-law, Charles McCafferty, and a nephew Cabe Fredrick White.
