Frederick “Fred” Carl Boxey, 85, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Medilodge of Midland.
He was born to the late Paul F. and Thelma (Nelson) Boxey on November 26, 1930 in Beaverton where he was raised and educated, graduating from Beaverton High School in 1947. Fred went to work for the Dow Chemical Company shortly after graduation. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1950 to 1954. He resumed working at the Dow Chemical Co. following his discharge from the Air Force and retired in 1992.
Fred is survived by his sons, Ryan Boxey of Sanford, Scott Boxey of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Kyle Boxey of Midland; grandchildren, Kristy (Jason) Molski of Midland and Brandon (Nichole) Miller) Boxey of Midland; great grandchildren, Alyza Jae Molski, Leyna Ryan Molski and Brooklyn Cole Boxey all of Midland; sister, Jeanne (Thomas) Pontseele of Merrill; brothers, Donald (Sharon) Boxey of Sanford and Ronald (Rebecca) Boxey of Palmdale, CA.
