Frederick T. Montone Sr., age 70, of Willingboro, went to be with God on Sunday, May 8, 2016 while surrounded by his family at home.
Preceded in death by his parents, Aida (Raffaele) & Vincent Montone, brother Jimmy, and loving, devoted wife for over 40 years, Carol (Fabian); he is the beloved father of Stacy (Adam), Frederick Jr. (Jennifer), Anthony (Sharron), Kimberly, and cherished husband of Joana Angelica Garcia Montone and step-father to Luciana & Viviana Garcia; he is the proud Pop-Pop of Kirstin, Michael (Brittany), Kari, Elayne, Travis, Zachary, Emma, Matthew, Tyler, and Ethan and great-grandfather of Rowan and Annora; he is also survived by extended family, many friends, and all of those that knew and loved him in Brazil.
Fred worked in the insurance business for many years; later he became a driver for the Philadelphia Inquirer where he was proud to be a member of Teamsters Local 628. Fred was born and raised in Philadelphia. He loved to visit the City and could often be found at Tony Luke’s or Nick’s roast beef for a late night snack, Corropolese for “real” tomato pie or at the Italian Market or Reading Terminal buying treats to bring home to his family. He also enjoyed many breakfasts at the Oregon Diner with Aunt Sandy & Cousin Angelo. Fred’s number one priority was his family; everything he did in life was for them.
He opened his home to anyone that needed an “adopted” dad. His heart was full of love and all he required in return was a hug and kiss from anyone that came through his door. He never said good-bye to anyone without an “I love you.”
