FREDERICK “FRED” SALCIDO, 47, Deming resident passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo.
He was born February 12, 1967, in Tularosa to Mary Margaret (Galaz) and Max Robert Salcido and has resided in Deming most of his life. Fred received his Bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University and later continued his education receiving his Master’s degree from Western New Mexico University. He taught at Deming Public Schools for 14 years and most recently was at the Deming Intermediate School. He was the trustee for the Elks Lodge, a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his daughter, Victoria Salcido of Deming; parents, Max and Mary Margaret “Margie” Salcido of Tularosa; brother, Kevin Salcido and wife Janet of Las Cruces; 3 nieces, Kayla, Jordon & Lauren; uncles and aunt, David & Mae Yniguez and Joe Salcido; special cousins, Korinne Pacheco and daughter, Gabrielle, Valerie (Ron)Rivera, Geretta (Ben) Abeyta, Katherine (Eliud) Salazar, Robert & Liz Salcido, and God-daughter, Alaina Rivera.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Marie in 2005.
