He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. Smith and Myrtle Sutton Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred “Bett” Lucille Smith of Dalton; son, Alan Smith of Dalton; daughter, Sarah Smith of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Cheryl Smith of Dalton, Janice and Ray Smith of Dalton; grandchildren, Savannah Whittenburg and Nova Leigh Holmes.
