Mr. Pettitt passed away on October 19, 2014, in San Diego.

He was born May 5th, 1920, in Warnerville, Nebr. to Roy and Elsie Pettitt. He left school at an early age to work on the family farm, serving in the Navy during WWII, and starting his own plumbing business in Norfolk.

He was married to Elaine M. Anderson on April 9, 1947 in Hoskins NE, who preceded him in death in 1995. He is survived by sisters, Arlein Anderson and Lois Prauener, a daughter, LeAnne E. Moore, and sons, LeRoy E., Meldon L., and Randall J. Pettitt, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-children with one more due in January.

The family moved to San Diego, CA in 1957 and soon after to Poway where they lived until he retired as a plumber and moved to a golf-resort near Weed, Calif., where he built two houses and loved to golf. Fred later married Muriel Sperry and returned to the San Diego area. Muriel preceded him in death in 2010.

Fred was an officer in three Lutheran churches, lending his carpenter and plumbing skills. Saturdays were always reserved for working at church. He enjoyed camping and golf although he played like the midwest plumber that he was. He had an extensive “wood butchering” room (his description) where he spent countless hours making toys and furniture for the grandkids and different charities.
