Frederick Paul Speckels of Huntington died on December 3, 2021 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital at the age of 77. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of William and Helen Speckels (Sudnik) of Northampton.
Frederick was devoted to his family and enjoyed salt and fresh water fishing, hunting, and sports. He was also an avid reader and liked to write poetry. Fred was a parishioner of the former St.
Frederick is predeceased by his parents: William and Helen Speckels of Northampton; and his two sisters: Christine Fontaine of Florida, and Katherine Proctor of Vermont.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Helen of 45 years, and their three sons: Paul Speckels and his wife, Lucille, and grandchildren Tommy, Max, Theo and Annabelle of Westfield; Stephen Speckels and his wife, Jennifer, and grandson Frederick of Huntington; Christopher Speckels of Chester; and his sister, Judith Speckels of Easthampton; and his aunt, Aurelia Sudnik of Northampton. He also leaves several nieces and nephews of Vermont, Florida and Switzerland.
The family appreciates the care given to Frederick by the staff of Cooley Dickinson Hospital and Linda Manor.
