Frederick Oscar Roelecke, Jr., age 82, of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at his home.
Born June 12, 1927 in Woodlawn, Maryland, he was the son of the late Fredrick O. and Pearl V. (Meekins) Roelecke, Sr. He was pre-deceased by his companion of 40 years, Elva M. Blanchard, and by his former spouse, Selma Witherow Roelecke.
Fred was a life long resident of Taneytown, and a dairy farmer for over 65 years. He was a member of the Dairy Farmers of America, and attended Taneytown Baptist Church. He loved his pet dogs.
Surviving are children, Frederick O. Roelecke, III of Hanover, PA, David S. Roelecke and wife Shirley of Westminster; and Elva’s children, Elaine Cantwell and husband Neal of Taneytown, Gladys Waddell and husband Forris of Westminster, Boy Blanchard and wife Nancy of Orrtanna, PA, Juanita Larimer of Fairfield, PA, Frances Blanchard of Shippensburg, PA, and Henry Blanchard and wife Tanya of Ickesburg; sisters Margaret V. Allick and Zola P. Harner both of Taneytown.
