Frederick Myland of Kalamazoo, Michigan went to be with his Lord and Savior early Sunday morning, August 9th 2015. He was born on October 5, 1929 in Comstock Township to Martin and Irene (Knetsch) Myland. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three siblings, Martin Myland, Nell Van Elk, and Everdena Visser.
Frederick was married to Helen Louise Wells on April 18th, 1957.

He will be greatly missed and remembered by his wife, his two sons, Frederick Martin and Connie (Kyes) Myland, Thomas Edward and Laurie (Wolthuis) Myland, and five grandchildren, Brittany Myland and fiancé Matthew Crooks, Garrett and Rachel (Robbert) Myland, Gregory Kyes-Myland, Lauren Louise Myland, and Gretchen Kyes-Myland. Frederick is also survived by his nephew, Jim Visser, with whom he shared a special brotherly bond, as well as cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Frederick graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1947. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning to Kalamazoo, he graduated Cum Laude from Western Michigan University in 1957. Upon graduating, he began his career with The Upjohn Company in the human resources department. He was the recipient of The Upjohn Achievement Award, although he would say the friendships he cultivated during his 33-year career were a far greater prize. Frederick was a lifelong member of Third Christian Reformed Church. He was active in the choir and served as a church Deacon.

Frederick loved music and was a member of The Singing Crusaders, spreading the Gospel through music at various events. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and his other hobbies included golfing and more golfing.
