Frederick A. “Fred” Zant, 74, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 3:02 pm on Monday, May 31, 2021, at his residence. He was born on November 30, 1946, in Peoria, IL, to Russell T. and Marcella B. (Boehle) Zant.
Surviving are his siblings, Bernard Zant of Peoria, IL, Dolores “Dee” (Art) Kiesewetter of Metamora, Brother Louis Zant, OFM, of Detroit, MI, Kenneth (Elaine) Zant of Hartsel, CO, and Cecilia (the late Fred) Colvin of Redmond, OR; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joseph Zant.
Fred was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Forrest Royal during the Vietnam War. He was an electrician by trade. Fred was a member of the Spring Bay American Legion Post #1115. He was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed golfing, and was proud to have served his country in the military.
