Frederick E. Fisher, 86, Anderson, died November 1, 2002 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born June 29, 1916 in Thorntown, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in this area since 1937. He retired in 1983 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 41 1/2 years of service. He was a 1935 graduate of Thorntown High School.
He served his country from 1942-1945 in the US Coast Guard during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church, Solar Masonic Lodge #734 F. & A.M., member & past Worthy Patron of the Anderson Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #154, UAW Local #662 and the Colfax American Legion #439. He was an avid fisherman, camper and basketball fan. He was honored as Madison Heights High School’s longest basketball season ticket holder. He held tickets for every season since the 1st year.
He is survived by his Wife whom he married January 5, 1941 in Thorntown: Opal Lenehan Fisher. Three Daughters: Cathie & husband John Stewart of Pendleton. Lindie & husband Roy Thomas of Anderson. Cindie & husband Jim Sprecker of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania. Two Nephews: Ted Lenehan of Colfax. Joe Lenehan of Frankfort. Five Grandchildren, One Step Grandchild, Nine Great Grandchildren, Three Step Great Granddaughters and Six Step Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Frank & Daisy Pogue Fisher. One Granddaughter: Nikki Eanes. One Step Great Grandson: Ronald R. Hickman.
