Frederick Carl Brehm, Jr., “Fred”, 83, lately of Cumming, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at The Oaks at Hampton. Fred was born on June 3, 1930, in the Bronx, NY, and then spent much of his youth on his parents’ farm in East Hartford, CT, where he also helped out in the family’s pharmacy on Prospect Avenue. After graduating from East Hartford High School in 1948, Fred attended the University of Connecticut and was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi. In 1952 Fred married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Barbara Hebb. Fred then took up his post as an officer in the US Air Force, and together they began their lives as a military couple. Initially stationed in Biloxi, MS, they soon were transferred to Tachikawa, Japan, before returning stateside in 1956. Fred then joined the Hazeltine Corporation of Greenlawn, NY, until he was transferred in 1966 to Braintree, MA as Operations Manager for EASL.
